Good Life 03:22
What does it all matter If we don’t last forever Footprints in the sand Wash away If I don’t tell the stories in my mind They’ll go with me when I die And my whole life Will fade I’m gonna try to live a good life anyway I’m gonna try to love more than hate I’m gonna try to honour my weaknesses And in humanity I’m gonna have faith When decency is crumbling Our differences I’ll celebrate And when denial of fact leads to ignorance I’m gonna do my best to educate I’m gonna try to live a good life anyway I’m gonna try to love more than hate I’m gonna try to honour my weaknesses And in humanity I’m gonna have faith We all come to the end one day Leave a single road unpaved ohhhh oh ohhh And if we’ve done good enough Is just a guessing game But we all hope someone Remembers our name I’m gonna try to live a good life anyway I’m gonna try to love more than hate I’m gonna try to honour my weaknesses And in humanity you gotta have faith

As I Am 03:56
Well I know What I want But everything out there is so confusing And I know What I have But I haven’t got it all Cause we all have something different And I, I just want to be me I, I just wanna be seen So take me as I am take me as I am Take it or leave it And I’ll take you as you are I won’t I won’t deny it I’ll believe it Well I know What you want But everything out there’s so confusing Well I know What you have But you haven’t got it all Cause we all have something different And you, you just wanna be seen, too So take me as I am take me as I am Take it or leave it And I’ll take you as you are I won’t I won’t deny it I’ll believe it And you can let it get you down let it get you down Question the reasons Or you can take me as I am Take it or leave it Well I know It makes no sense But I keep running round Running round and round in circles And I know You gotta let it go But it’s so damn hard When no one else is So take me as I am take me as I am Take it or leave it And I’ll take you as you are I won’t I won’t deny it I’ll believe it And you can let it get you down let it get you down Question the reasons Take me as I am

There’s a part of my heart I built a box around Where I keep memories of you safe a sound I swear I can still feel you near But you’ve been gone longer than you were here Stay Stay with me Let me feel you in the summer breeze Stay Stay with me Shiver through my veins on a winters eve And I I believe As painful as it is We were meant to meet But Ohhhhh Heaven only knows Why I had to stay And you had to go Do you ever dream with your eyes open wide Do ghosts grow old as the time goes by And in your glory in your light Not a day I don’t think of you has gone by Stay Stay with me Let me feel you in the summer breeze Stay Stay with me Colour my world as the fall leaves change And I I believe As painful as it is We were meant to meet. But Ohhhhh Heaven only knows Why I had to stay And you had to go I long for one more minute than we had A craving for your soul to take my hand And when the nights and days Feel to much the bear I will close my eyes and feel you there There’s a part of my heart That I built a box around Where I keep memories of you Safe a sound There’s a part of my heart I built a box around Where I keep memories of you safe a sound

I don’t always know where I’m going But I’ve always known, that I’m trying And sometimes sometimes I wonder If it would be easier If there was someone there doing all the heavy lifting And all around us there are people watching They look and they think that we’ve got it all But they don’t know you like I know you They don’t know you never catch me when I fall But I’m always always on my own Even when you’re there I feel alone And you don’t see me Like I see me You don’t love every inch of who I am And I’m not exactly sure what you’re here for But it’s not for me It’s not for me Every day I pour my heart out And you pretend you’re listening But then your eyes glaze over and your heart hardens And you leave me there on my knees And I’m always always on my own Even when you’re there I feel alone You don’t see me Like I see me You don’t love every inch of who I am And I’m not exactly sure what you’re here for But it’s not for me No it’s not for me You can either step into the light with me, Or say goodbye goodbye I’m leaving Cause I can’t and I won’t stand for it anymore And just as death does us part So will it if you close your heart And I can’t feel it open anymore And I’m always always on my own Even when you’re there I feel alone You don’t see me Like I see me You don’t love every inch of who I am And I’m not exactly sure what you’re here for But it’s not for me No it’s not for me And sometimes sometimes I wonder If it’d be easier If there was someone there doing all the heavy lifting If there was someone there doing all the heavy lifting

Cruel 04:06
How can we be so cruel I don’t understand me I don’t understand you How is it that we don’t think for ourselves Your mind is penetrating mine Like a fishhook on a wire Bring me in pull me out Make, making me always doubt Giving me a reason to get out Of taking the fall for my mistakes Oh oh oh Bring me in, pull me out, Make, making me always doubt Wrong from right How do we sleep at night Oh oh oh Oh oh oh When did we get so cruel All the stories we have heard Become intertwined In the crevices of our minds How is it that we don’t see thru the lies Your mind is penetrating mine Like a fishhook on a wire Bring me in pull me out Make, making me always doubt Giving me a reason to get out Of taking the fall for my mistakes Oh oh oh Bring me in pull me out Make, making me always doubt Wrong from right How do we sleep at night I hope it haunts you for the rest of your life You shouldn’t get away Shouldn’t get free From all the pain you caused eternity I hope it haunts you for the rest of your life Just as it haunts me I hope it suffocates your dreams Oh oh Bring me in pull me out Make, making me always doubt Giving me a reason to get out Of taking the fall for my mistakes Oh oh oh Bring me in pull me out Make, making me always doubt Wrong from right How do we sleep at night Oh oh oh Oh oh oh oh When did we get so cruel Oh oh oh oh oh oh Oh oh oh When did we get so cold

Alice 03:27
They like to keep us weak Unbuttoned down and desperately in need But I can feel the breeze And through the keyhole I will peak And then I’ll leave Oh Alice Why did you drink The Kool-aid they, they’ve been selling Can’t you see the imagery And what is lurking underneath mmm mmm My mind is blown every day By all the words the people say And I’m not left out of the mix no no Cause each and every one of us Needs our fix Oh Alice Why’d you drink The Kool-aid they, they’ve been selling Can’t you see the imagery And what is lurking underneath mmm ohh You turn the lights down low You make the room run cold Your lies have made you bold But we are free to make a difference We are free to make it right The minute we stop asking They’ll strip away our rights Oh Alice Why’d you drink oh oh oh (The minute we stop asking) The Kool-aid they they’ve been selling (They’ll strip away our rights) Time to wake up from this dream (The minute we stop asking) Cause we aren’t free until all of us are free (They’ll strip away our rights) Oh Alice Why’d you drink oh oh oh (The minute we stop asking) The Kool-aid they’ve been selling (They’ll strip away our rights) Can’t you see the imagery (Time to wake up from this dream) We aren’t free until all of us are free Mmm mmm

Better 03:13
What have you done To the girl I knew back then Her smile could light up the whole room Without even trying See there’s something different About her now I can’t help but think We had a part in it somehow See we judge and judge Till there is nothing left We pushed her down and down Until she could not resist When did we start Turning on each other We’re supposed to be there for one another I don’t I don’t understand When did we decide We would not support our own kind And we’d abandon and leave behind Our friends as we should know them Oh, we should know, better better Oh, we should grow Maybe we were better off Without magazines to read and TV to watch Nonetheless we’ve clearly lost our way Forgotten what is right and how to see through the haze When did we start Turning on each other We’re supposed to be there for one another I don’t I don’t understand When did we decide We would not support our own kind And we’d abandon and leave behind Our friends as we should know them How many lives Will we abuse Before we realize somethings gone astray Judging others taking away their worth and grace Is not at all ok It has never been ok When did we start Turning on each other We’re supposed to be there for one another I don’t I don’t understand When did we decide We would not support our own kind And we’d abandon and leave behind Our friends as we should know them Oh, we should know, better better Oh, we should grow What have, what have you done

For The Win 03:33
When I’m gone Promise me You’ll put your tears in a cup For others to drink When I’m gone And you need me Look around and give your love To someone in need Cause this world won’t run on disparity no no It goes round and round on love And love is free When I go Take the hand Of someone you barely know Who can barely stand Cause this world won’t run on a lonely heart no no It goes round and round You gotta pull each other back in from in from in from the dark A proud heart and a humble chin Brings it all home for the win For the win When I’m gone Promise me You’ll do your best to love yourself as much As much as you loved me Time goes fast Stories end But the memories surpass The life of them And this world won’t turn on it’s own no no It takes a village to pull it along A proud heart and a humble chin Brings it all home for the win For the win

If I could take back all the things I did That made you cry I’d fill the gaps with rainbows and unicorns and butterflies There’d be no darkness When you lay your head to rest And you would never ever doubt that you are loved And that I love you best So please Forgive me I may not have been perfect But I loved you perfectly If I could make the sunshine When the rain is pouring down I’d clear the skies and part the sea for you And you’d sail right through And if trouble came knocking I’d send it away For no one knows better than me How to keep you safe So please Forgive me I may not have been perfect But I loved you perfectly You don’t know, you don’t know How hard I try To do it all right get it all right All of the time You don’t know that I do it all for you But I do, yes it’s true, oh I do It all for you And If I could take back all of the things I did that made you cry Well I’d fill the gaps with rainbows and unicorns and colourful butterflies So please Forgive me That I may not have been perfect Ohhhh please Forgive me I may not have been perfect But I loved you perfectly I love you perfectly

about

Canadian singer songwriter Haley K Turner’s first full-length album "in from the dark" makes for a vulnerable combination of beautiful story telling, heartfelt melodies and evocative lyrics that resonate so deeply it feels as though you’ve written them yourself.

Recorded with Juno nominated producer and musician Tom Dobrzanski (Said the Whale, The Zolas) Haley's organically crafted indie folk-pop songs drift seamlessly from acoustic guitars and intimate vocals on stripped back ballads to stunning cello riffs, uplifting hooks and effortless harmonies delicately balanced between a steady beat and passionate grace.

“When everything else fails, all we can do is be there for one another. We have to bring each other back in from the dark.”
